Shanghai, 25 March 2024. As a platform for discovery and business exchange, the fair, held from 6 – 8 March, spun a global thread of connections across its hall. One-stop sourcing experience: Yarn Expo Spring opens this week with 500+ exhibitors

Shanghai, 4 March 2024. Set to open this week from 6 – 8 March 2024 at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (NECC) in Shanghai (Hall 8.2), Yarn Expo Spring will welcome over 500 quality exhibitors from 11 countries and regions, namely Bangladesh, China, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Pakistan, Singapore, Taiwan, United Arab Emirates and Vietnam. Across seven feature zones, buyers will be able to source from a wide spectrum of the latest innovations, with the show floor spanning 27,000 sqm. Major zones include the Cashmere Yarn, Fancy Yarn, Chemical Fibre, Linen Yarn, Cotton Yarn, Wool Yarn, and Overseas Yarn, which includes the India Pavilion and Pakistan Zone. The 27,000 sqm stage was set by 451 exhibitors from 10 countries and regions (2021: 387 exhibitors, 6 countries and regions), a 16.5% increase from the previous edition. New exhibitor countries and regions were Singapore, Switzerland, Taiwan, and Türkiye. In another testament to this edition’s internationality, suppliers were met at the fairground by over 28,000 buyers from 70 countries and regions (2021: 21,204 visitors, 16 countries and regions), with sustainability proving a popular specification for in-person sourcing.

Yarn Expo Spring 2023: fancy yarn to catch the eye as global players return to Shanghai

After the January confirmation of China’s borders reopening, there has been an increase in the country’s trade fairs and other international in-person business activities. With its spring textile shows around the corner, Messe Frankfurt is looking forward to welcoming a higher number of overseas participants to the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai) from 28 – 30 March 2023. Held concurrently with four other textile trade fairs, the previous edition of Yarn Expo Spring alone attracted 387 exhibitors from six countries and regions, as well as 21,204 visitors.

Trio of textile fairs rescheduled by three weeks to end of March

In view of the easing of pandemic restriction policies in China, the Spring Editions of Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics, Yarn Expo and Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles have been moved to the new timeslot of 28 – 30 March 2023. This will allow both local and international fairgoers more time to prepare for their participation, with a higher industry turnout now expected at the three fairs. The fairs will still be located at the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai where they were originally due to be held from 8 – 10 March.

Early confirmation of functional and sustainable exhibitors at Yarn Expo Spring 2023

With each passing year, sustainable textile practices are becoming increasingly innovative. In fact, yarns can now even be fabricated from industrial waste gas or antibacterial fibres derived from corn starch. Visitors of next year’s Yarn Expo Spring will find a comprehensive selection of related products when the fair returns to the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai from 8 – 10 March 2023. Intertextile and Yarn Expo spring show dates to be adjusted

In response to pandemic containment efforts, Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics – Spring Edition and Yarn Expo Spring will be merged with the respective Autumn Editions of the shows from 29 – 31 August, whilst Intertextile Home Textiles will also be moved to the same aforementioned dates. The fairs will still take place at the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai where they were originally due to be held from 14 – 16 April 2022.

New April dates for Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics, Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles and Yarn Expo

The Spring Editions of Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics, Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles and Yarn Expo will now take place from 14 – 16 April 2022 instead of their original March date. They will continue to be held at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai) alongside CHIC and PH Value.

Opening its doors next Wednesday, Yarn Expo Spring will gather the yarn and fibre industry for three days of networking, sourcing and business exchange from 17 – 19 March. Intertextile Shanghai and Yarn Expo spring editions to be postponed

The spring editions of the three fairs – Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics, Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles and Yarn Expo Spring – that were due to take place from 10 – 12 March 2021 will be postponed, with a new date to be announced shortly. Messe Frankfurt made the decision along with the co-organisers of the fairs to comply with local authority guidelines.

Messe Frankfurt announces changes to its postponed Intertextile Shanghai and Yarn Expo fairs

Originally scheduled to take place in March, Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics – Spring Edition, Yarn Expo Spring and Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles – Spring Edition were postponed over concerns surrounding the COVID-19 outbreak. Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics and Yarn Expo will now merge with Intertextile Shenzhen Apparel Fabrics and the debut Yarn Expo Shenzhen, which will be held from 15 – 17 July 2020, with exhibitors of the Shanghai fairs given the option to participate in the Shenzhen editions instead. Exhibitors of Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles – Spring Edition have the option to partake in the Autumn Edition instead, which will be held from 24 – 26 August 2020.

Messe Frankfurt’s upcoming Shanghai textile fairs in March to be postponed

The company announced today that its three textile fairs in Shanghai will be postponed from March to a later date due to the Novel Coronavirus outbreak. This includes Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics – Spring Edition, Yarn Expo Spring and Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles – Spring Edition which were due to be held in Shanghai from 11 – 13 March at the National Exhibition and Convention Center.

Yarn Expo Spring will take place from 12 – 14 March 2019 at the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai. Between 2016 and 2018, Yarn Expo Spring saw increases of 29% and 20.9% in exhibitor and visitor numbers respectively, with nearly one visitor per sqm at last year’s edition (25,966 buyers from 88 countries & regions; 435 exhibitors from 10 countries & regions). Final Report: Yarn Expo Spring’s status as Asia’s leading industry event attracts 15% more buyers

Yarn Expo continued its evolution into the industry’s most comprehensive and effective business platform with its Spring Edition which concluded last week with a large increase in the buyer figure, as well as another year of growth in the exhibitor number. Strong demand was evident for recent growth areas of the fair such as synthetic, fancy and specialty yarns as well as chemical fibres, while exhibitors in the more traditional cotton product group also fared well. In total, 435 exhibitors from 10 countries & regions took part (2017: 393, 12 countries & regions), attracting 25,966 trade buyers from 88 countries & regions (2017: 22,579, 94 countries & regions).
